1. Barbecue University
If you want to learn how to grill like a pro just in time for summer, look no further than Barbecue University, hosted by the Montage Palmetto Bluff. Founded by popular PBS TV host and internationally renowned grilling expert Steven Raichlen, Barbecue University is a multi-day event that celebrates food, fire, fun, and friendship. This hands-on course features informative classes that will teach you how to master the art of live fire cooking and grilling under Steven’s guidance and supervision. Each class kicks off with a Southern breakfast and concludes with a delicious lunch of the day’s creations. Our mouths are already watering!
2. Fourth of July Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day with activities and events at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. This Fourth of July, Wilson Village will be buzzing with excitement — featuring festively decorated golf carts and bicycles, families enjoying poolside entertainment, and evenings of specialty take-out dinners. Kick-off the weekend with Hawaiian Luau on the Lawn then enjoy a celebratory Oyster Roast and an evening of Dueling Pianos.
On the morning of Independence Day, you can look forward to the annual 4th of July Parade — a festive assembly of golf carts, bicycles, participants on foot, and pets. The parade, led by our local fire department, will launch from the parking lot of RT’s Market and conclude at the Village Green. Once the sun goes down, you and your family are invited to enjoy an array of games and acrobatic entertainment during the Sunset Carnival — complete with sweet treats, like cotton candy and funnel cakes.
3. Labor Day Weekend
Celebrate the official close of the summer season at the Montage Palmetto Bluff with exciting activities the whole family will enjoy. On Friday, September 3rd, begin the weekend sipping champagne with an expert sommelier and enjoying oysters at our Pearls & Pours event. Then, grab a casual bite to eat from local food trucks while enjoying entertainment on Boat House Lawn. The following day, we invite you to embark on a trip back in time to the quaint island of Daufuskie. This exciting excursion includes a round trip guided boat cruise to the island and a golf cart tour of local artists’ studios, historical sites, and cultural attractions.
On Labor Day, an exciting lineup of events will take place at the Montage. Begin your day painting the beautiful surrounding scenery at the Lemonade and Landscapes event. Then, head to Moreland Oyster Roast and Lowcountry Boil to feast on fresh seafood while enjoying expansive views of the May River. Wrap up the evening with drinks and food trucks at the Picnic Blanket Bingo event!

During their stay at Palmetto Bluff, they will host several events including a dip-dyed small leather goods workshop and a hand-stitched wallet session. For the month of July, we will host Ben Ross of Brackish, while Mary Landrum Pyron of ML Provisions will be our Artist of the Month in August.
