The Squire Pope Carriage House, located by The Church of the Cross in the Old Town Bluffton Historic District, has recently undergone major rehabilitation. Purchased by the Town of Bluffton in 2017, this historic structure has been restored to its earlier appearance when it was occupied as a private residence. Glen Umberger, Historic Preservationist for the Town of Bluffton, has come to tell us the history of this building, the rehabilitation process, and what historical information they learned or confirmed during these repairs.
